This is my first time in Asia, moreover in another continent. I’ve always wanted to travel to Asia. Japan has been -and still is- on the top of my bucket list as a travel destination but I jumped on the opportunity to come to China.

I celebrated CNY (Chinese New Year) at the beginning of this year and since then I’ve always had it on the back of my mind. The culture fascinates me and I’m eager to taste local cuisines.

I mentioned to a family friend that I’m planning on going to Spain to work as an Au Pair but that I don’t have a family chosen out yet. He mentioned that he knows a family in need of someone who an actively speaks Finnish.

I contacted the family and they were coming to Finland so I could meet them in person. After a few times taking care of the younger child I was sure this was a nice family and I would enjoy my time with them. And they let me come to China with them.

The younger child and I went to Oodi library in Helsinki. We also went to Korkeasaari zoo. He loved all the kangaroos. We also spent a day at home, building a sofa together and conquering sand lands into our Sand City.

Now I’m working as an Au Pair in Guangzhou, China.

Thank you for showing interest and reading!
